Lorazepam Tablets I.P. 2mg – Dosage Guidelines
1. Dosage for Anxiety:
Initial dose: Typically, 2 mg to 3 mg per day, divided into 2 or 3 doses.
Maintenance dose: The usual maintenance dose is 2 mg to 6 mg per day, depending on the individual’s response to the medication.
Maximum dose: 10 mg per day may be prescribed in severe cases, but only under strict medical supervision.
2. Dosage for Insomnia:
Typical dose: 2 mg to 4 mg taken once at bedtime.
Maximum dose: 4 mg per day, but this should be prescribed for the shortest duration possible to minimize dependence risks.
3. Dosage for Sedation or Anxiety Before Medical Procedures:
Pre-procedure dose: 2 mg to 4 mg taken 1-2 hours before the procedure, as directed by your doctor.
Important Notes:
Use cautiously: Lorazepam should be taken exactly as prescribed to avoid dependence or withdrawal symptoms.
Start with the lowest effective dose: Your doctor may start you on a lower dose and gradually increase it to minimize the risk of side effects.
